AML Standard Test Data and Representative Data, prepared in accordance with Edition 1 of each for the six NATO endorsed product specifications, is available for download. The Standard data is fictitious but contains at least one example of every feature class and at least one example of every possible attribute within the data model, although not all features carry the full possible attribution. The Representative Data is real data, typical in size and volume to that for real-time use. This data will only contain features and attributes relevant to the product type and availability of source data in the area concerned. It is not updated and nor is it intended for operational use.

The data is provided in self-extracting zip files. These archives will expand into S-57 Exchange Sets compliant with Edition 3.1 of the International Hydrographic Organisation's S-57 standard for the exchange of hydrographic data.

As well as S-57 Base Exchange Sets (these also include New Editions); S-57 Update Exchange Sets are provided in the same way. For details of the content and coverage for each of the Base, New Edition and Update files, follow the link AML Test Data Content & Coverage.

The impact of a move to Version 2.0 data is being assessed. When DI IC has agreed a migration strategy sample data in accordance with Edition 2 of the six NATO endorsed product specifications will be made available when it has been produced.

Integrated Water Column (IWC) Test Data
Phase 1 IWC test data can now be downloaded. This includes Component 1 (Physical Climatology) along with Component 1 data notes, and Component 3 (Marine Mammal) along with Component 3 data notes. Test data for Component 2 (Currents Climatology) is not currently available.
