UKHO Cartographic Training

We understand that marine cartography requires specialist skills. Our full time team of qualified instructors train our own staff and can also help students from international hydrographic offices to develop the expertise needed to produce marine charts and associated material from source surveys.

We can help students from international hydrographic offices acquire the core skills, knowledge and competence you need to be a marine cartographer that meets international standards.

Our instructors have extensive operational experience in marine cartography and related disciplines and are continually updating and developing the courses available.

Our cartographic and ENC training courses have Category B accreditation in the Standard of Competence for Nautical Cartographers from:

  • International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO)
  • International Federation of Surveyors (FIG)
  • International Cartographic Association (ICA).

Our training centre in Taunton can accommodate your group of up to 12 people. If your group is above that number, or you have a specific requirement to do so, our instructors can run courses in your organisation's offices or another venue. We can also tailor courses to meet your specific needs.
