Admiralty Digital & Online Catalogues

Featuring all Admiralty products and services. The Admiralty Digital Catalogue and Admiralty Online Catalogue are both updated weekly to ensure access to the latest information at all times.

The Admiralty Digital Catalogue provides a comprehensive and up to date reference in graphical and textual form of the range of Admiralty products and services, including Standard Navigational Charts and Publications, and the AVCS, ARCS and Admiralty ECDIS Services.

In addition to the standard products, the Admiralty Digital Catalogue now contains Temporary & Preliminary Notices to Mariners (T&P NMs) and Data Assessment Notes. Click here to see a demonstration of this new functionality.

The Catalogue features comprehensive search functionality by product type, scale or user defined route with weekly updates available online to keep you fully up to date.

T&P NMs

T&P NMs contain information that is sufficiently significant to need to be communicated to the mariner but which is either too transient (e.g. works in this area for 8 weeks) for a standard NM or needs communicating too quickly to have completed the appropriate NM action (e.g. a new port operation that will require a New Edition to depict it properly).

T&P NM information is currently provided with reference to specific paper chart products however the information contained is relevant to the user of any chart products in the area covered.

The Admiralty Digital Catalogue simplifies the passage planning process by making the identification of T&P NMs relevant to the intended voyage quick and easy. The Catalogue allows T&P NMs to be displayed geographically, searched, viewed either individually or as a user-defined group, saved and printed.

RECOMMENDED HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

To ensure trouble-free functioning, the following minimum requirements should be met:

  • Windows 2000 or XP (Service Pack 2 recommended)
  • Screen resolution 1024 by 768 pixels
  • Processor 2 GHz
  • 512 MB memory
  • 100 MB free disk space for the installation
  • Internet access for updating

The Catalogue is designed to be installed on Windows 2000 and XP. However, it will run on Windows Vista under certain conditions. The Catalogue installs its data files in the 'Program Files' folder, however, Windows Vista no longer allows this. To avoid this problem, install the program in a folder outside of the default 'Program Files' folder. For example: create a new folder on the C: drive (e.g. C:\ADC). During installation, on the screen 'Choose Destination Location', select Browse and select the folder created above - C:\ADC. The program will then be installed in this location and will then run successfully.

INSTALLATION

  • FROM THE AVCS UTILITIES CD - The installer should start automatically upon insertion of the CD. If it does not, you can start it by running the file ‘Setup.exe’ in the root of the Utilities CD (e.g. ‘D:\Setup.exe’ if your CD drive is ‘D’). Follow the instructions displayed to install the Admiralty Digital Catalogue.
  • FROM DOWNLOADED ZIP FILE – Navigate to the file location and double click the ‘setup.exe’ file in the zip folder. Follow the instructions displayed on the screen.

Note

Any previously installed version of the Admiralty Digital Catalogue must be closed and removed prior to the installation of the new version. To remove the program select Start – Programs – Admiralty Digital Catalogue – Uninstall Admiralty Digital Catalogue or select Start – Settings – Control Panel – Add/Remove Programs and locate the Admiralty Digital Catalogue to uninstall.
