Tidal Prediction Service

Our tidal experts can deliver detailed and reliable tidal information tailor-made to your specific needs.

The Tidal Prediction Service (TPS) offers bespoke tidal predictions in a range of different layouts. It can be delivered in either digital or analogue formats.

We provide tidal predictions for standard and secondary ports. Prices are "per-port-per-calendar-year" and depend on the file layout and format (digital or analogue).

Note: You must purchase an original copy of the predictions to apply for copyright. If you intend to reproduce the data in any way you must complete an online copyright application form. You’ll find the form, information about copyright, and contact details at: http://copyright.ukho.gov.uk

How to Order

Once you’ve chosen the formats, ports and years you require, you need contact the Tidal Section to confirm we can meet your request and complete your order.

If you intend to reproduce the data you’ll need to apply online for a copyright licence. The licences are chargeable in some cases. Once we’ve confirmed the licence situation we will send you a pro forma invoice for the cost of the predictions and any copyright charges. We’ll send you the predictions once we’ve had confirmation of payment and received the licence.

EasyTide - Free Tidal Predictions On-line

The UKHO has a separate website EasyTide.UKHO.gov.uk which allows users to freely acquire tidal information for over 7000 ports world wide for the current day plus up to 6 days into the future.

There is a further service which incurs a small charge allowing the user to gain tidal information from any date between 100AD and up to 50 years in the future and access tide predictions for 7 or 14 days at a time. Enhanced predictions also include other useful information such as times of sunrise/sunset, lunar phases and Springs and Neaps data.
