Sea Asia 2009

UKHO at SeaAsia 2009

UKHO will be exhibiting at SeaAsia 2009, to be held at Suntec Singapore from 21-23 April.

We are delighted to announce that we have taken the Seminar Theatre sponsorship package at SeaAsia 2009. The international event will be held in Suntec Singapore from April 21 to 23 and follows the inaugural gathering in 2007 which was established to raise the Asian shipping industry’s voice on the global maritime stage.

Over 350 companies from 45 countries throughout the globe will attend the event which has become the leading forum for ship owners and the Asian shipping community to come together and debate issues of vital mutual importance. The three day show - which is organised by Seatrade magazine and the Singapore Maritime Foundation - will also give delegates the opportunity to learn about the most recent product and service developments for the maritime industry.

SeaAsia 2009 will be the first show that we have attended in the region and we will use the event to demonstrate our commitment to the area and to support our Asian distribution network which includes KH Singapore, Transas, DPM and Motion Smith. The sponsorship package will include a daily half-hour presentation slot which will allow us to outline the steps we are making to remove further barriers to the adoption of ECDIS and the practical use of ENCs for navigation at sea.

Our channel management and marketing manager Hayley Jopson will present The Future of Navigation in the Seminar Theatre between 1030-1100 hours on Tuesday April 21 and between 1410-1440 hours the following day. International sales manager Guy Edwards will present between 1205-1235 hours on the last day of the international event. Other key sponsors include DnB NOR, Lloyd’s Register, PSA, ABS, Anglo-Eastern Group, DNV, DVB Bank, GAC, Germanischer Lloyd, Ince & Co, Keppel Offshore & Marine, Pacific International Lines, Shipserv and The Standard.

Hayley Jopson, UKHO Channel Management and Marketing Manager, said: “We are a delighted to sponsor SeaAsia 2009 “SeaAsia has emerged as one of the leading international exhibitions within the calendar year and it’s crucial that we have a presence at the event in order to support of our partners throughout the region. “The event will also offer extensive networking and business development opportunities as the UKHO continues to develop its products to support the international mariner as the industry moves towards the digital era.”
