Planning for the Future of Navigation at Posidonia 2010

The Posidonia Exhibition 2010 is fast approaching (7-11 June) and the UKHO’s focus at this year’s event is going to be on addressing the business, operational and compliance issues raised by the ongoing shift in maritime navigation from paper charts to digital technology.

At the show, attendees will have access to a broad range of advice and information on effective planning for the transition to digital navigation, and be able to gain first-hand experience of the latest Admiralty technology and services to support e-navigation.

Just two years away from the first of the deadlines for the compulsory carriage of ECDIS, Posidonia is the perfect occasion for maritime organisations to evaluate their planning progress for the transition to digital navigation to ensure they are on track for the future. The UKHO team will be on hand to provide any advice, information or guidance that attendees may need, and you can find us in Hall 5, Stand 564.

The focal point for the UKHO stand will be Admiralty e-Navigator, the UKHO’s new integrated digital catalogue, product viewer and passage planning tool. Anyone attending the event is invited to visit the stand to try a live demonstration of the service. We think that with first-hand experience of the product, you’ll see exactly how it helps make every stage of navigation and fleet management smarter, simpler and safer.

UKHO products and services will also be available on the stands of four major Admiralty distributors, including Poly Thomas Gunn, Lilley and Gillie, Transas and Kelvin Hughes.
