For example, just last month one of the world’s largest shipping companies implemented Admiralty Digital Publications (ADP) across its entire fleet, which includes tankers, container ships and support vessels.
An industry blog recently stated that ‘nautical charts and publications change nearly as fast as the tide’, which can mean time-consuming work for second mates who have to cut and paste with every new notice. ADP ensures that electronic chart data, which is exactly the same as that in paper publications, is updated automatically in seconds, therefore greatly reducing time and effort spent in manual correction and minimising the risk of human error.
It will help our latest international customer make the transition from traditional paper publications to a new digital format much more easily. The ADP library currently comprises Admiralty Digital Radio Signals Volume 6 (ADRS 6), Admiralty TotalTide and Admiralty Digital List of Lights (ADLL), each providing immediate access to vital navigational information. You can find further information on ADP here.
